AURORA - The Aurora Youth Soccer Club celebrated the 2014 season at the Celebration of Soccer Awards ceremony Thursday, Nov. 13 at The Aurora Seniors' Centre.

MPP Chris Ballard kicked the night off with a certificate presentation to AYSC President Spencer Kanen commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the club. Also in attendance was Councillor/Deputy Mayer for Town of Aurora John Abel and York Region Soccer Association President Lucille Abate.

The individuals recognized played a significant role on their teams both on and off the field during the 2014 season. As a player, coach, manager or an enthusiastic volunteer, their role at the AYSC was integral to the success of our programs and overall experience for all AYSC members.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to the celebration.

Santa Under the Stars Parade

santaparade2015
The magic of the holiday season will be starting in Aurora, as Santa makes his annual visit at the Santa Under t
he Stars Parade on Saturday, November 28. The Aurora Youth Soccer Club is proud to be participating in the event again this year. We are calling all of Santa's Helpers to join us on our float! We need walkers alongside the float and elves to sit on the float.

The parade will begin at the St.Andrews shopping plaza and continue south on Yonge St to the Canadian Tire parking lot. We are asking that everyone who wishes to be involved be at the St. Andrews Plaza by 5:30pm. Casey's bus t
ransportation will shuttle participants from the Aurora High School parking lot to St. Andrews Shopping Plaza parking lot. The shuttle service will operate between 4:30pm to 5:15pm and will return members from the Canadian Tire parking lot after the parade back to Aurora High School. You can also drop participants off at the St Andrews Plaza but no parking or waiting around will be tolerated. Our float is #26 and will have a trailer between 16-20ft.

The Santa Under the Stars Parade is one of the most highly attended parades in York Region. This night time display is enchanting with beautifully decorated floats, incredible marching bands and a few special guests including Santa Claus himself!

Although the temperature is forecasted to be above 0, dress in layers to ensure that you are warm. You can wear your AYSC soccer jersey over your coat.

Volunteers
- We will need four(4) adults to act as point guards around the float during the parade itself. This is a town safety requirement to ensure spectators do not approach the float. if you plan on walking to be with your child, this would be a great help.
- We also need one or two parents willing to ensure there are no children left behind at Canadian Tire and that we stay as a group until all children have been found by their parent/guardian.

End of Parade
- The parade ends at Canadian Tire where everyone will be asked to get off the float/street. Police will be there to assist.
- If you are not walking with your child, please ensure you are at the Canadian Tire to meet them. You will need to be there by 7pm to ensure you don't miss us when we arrive. I expect our float to reach between 7-7:15pm.
- There will be a shuttle bus to take you back to Aurora High School at the Canadian Tire and will continue for as long as necessary until are participants are returned to the school.
