Free Stinger Stars Program

This Free Program was newly introduced in 2011

Special Needs clinics for boys and girls 6 – 16 years of age

 

Dates: Saturday May 5 - July 28, 2012 **no sessions May 19, June 9 & June 30

This year the AYSC are running the Stinger stars program, this program will be headed by David Thorburn (Technical Director) and Scott Guy (Head Coach).  Both coaches are certified in this specialist field.  Special guest coaches (International professionals) will also be involved in the program. This program will be sponsored by UMBRO, therefore all participants will be provided with a Free uniform.

The AYSC Stinger Stars program is now entering its 6th outdoor season. The Stinger Stars program is open to anyone with a physical or intellectual disability between the ages of 6-16 years of age.

The AYSC will help ensure that all program players with disabilities have fun in a learning environment, with the opportunity to reach their level in soccer.

 

Key Aims:

  • To offer free soccer coaching experience, in a structured, fun, and safe environment, to those with disabilities participating in the York Region and Canada.
  • Develop a programme of training that in time involves regional games with competition
  • Develop a physical; and mental appropriate structured training curriculum
  • To help raise the standard of coaching for disabilities with the use of specialist coaching In- Service programs
  • To raise awareness for the coaching and competition needs of players with disabilities, and the need for inclusion locally and nationally.
  • To expose both coaches and players to some of the world’s best special needs coaches, and methods of development
