The Aurora Youth Soccer Club is committed to providing our players, coaches and referees with the highest level of professional development available. Our goal is quite simple: Every player, coach and referee will have the opportunity to participate in and progress to their highest level.

Players:

All players will have the opportunity to particpate in and try our for teams from our recreational house leagues through our AllStar and Select programs into our Competitive (Rep) programs. The system of advancement will be clearly articulated and easily accessible for all players. The selection process and requirements will be transparent and ongoing throughout the year.

Coaches:

All our volunteer coaches will be encouraged to particpate in ongoing development programs and in-service sessions aimed at improving their onfield abilities. Coaching standards and levels of certification will be set for each level of play at the club. Coaches, at all levels, will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and advancement opportunities will be offered when available. Players, 16 years and older, will be strongly encouarged to take part in our Player-To-Coach program.

Referees:

The AYSC is committed to recruiting, training, mentoring and promoting our referees. All players 12 years of age and older will be encouraged to consider refereeing at the AYSC. A strong support network will be established to ensure all referees receive the support, education and coaching needed to succeed in the position. Advancement opportunities will be offered to those referees meeting the highest standards set by the club.

Development Structure:

Aurora FC (AYSC) is committed to implementing Ontario Soccer's Development Matrix for all LTPD age groups including minimum/maximum game day roster sizes, field sizes, goal sizes, playing formats, open rosters, and age appropriate ball sizes.

Game Leader Implementation [U8]
The objective of the Game Leader program is to allow for an improved, child friendly approach to supervising small-sided games for children U6-U8 and creating more opportunities for parents to get involved. The Game Leader program has been designed by Ontario Soccer Grassroots, Referee and Coaching departments. It is supported and endorsed by the Canadian Soccer Association.

Game Day Rosters Implementation
In accordance with LTPD standards game day rosters are implemented as follows:
U8  Maximum of 10 Players
U9 & U10 Maximum of 12 Players (ideal 9)
U11 & U12 Maximum of 16 Players (ideal 12)

Maximum Game Duration Implementation
U8  40 minutes
U9 & U10 - 50 minutes
U11 & U12 - 70 minutes
U13 & above - 90 minutes

Retreat Line Implementation
In accordance with LTPD standards the Retreat Line is implemented in the following age groups:
U8 - 1/2 Way
U9 & U10 - 1/3 Way
U11 & U12 - 1/3 Way
