U14 Boys Team 1 - Wins the Robbie

U14 Boys Team 1 - Wins the Robbie!

U14 Boys momentum continues. After a disappointing weekend where the U14 boys failed to qualify for the knock out rounds of the Ontario Cup due to goal difference, they vowed not to leave their fates in the hands of others as they prepared for their first game in the Robbie Tournament. Facing an overmatched East York team the boys easily won their first game 11-0. Leading the rampage was Joseph Fusco, potting four in this lopsided game. Facing a plucky Toronto Nitros in their afternoon game the boys ended up finishing the first day with 14 goals for and none against after a 3-0 win. Saturday morning brought their toughest game as they faced a Calgary team determined not to go home early as only one team per division would advance. A 1-0 win for Aurora and the Calgary boys were boarding the plane back to Alberta. The semi’s were over early, with 3 quick goals against Brampton the boys were on their way to the finals with a 5-1 win. The Finals matched the boys against a Wexford team that they had drawn 2-2 earlier in the year. The boys came out strong creating numerous scoring chances before Duncan Allen put the boys up 1-0. Wexford tied the score on a defensive error before Imad Shaker put the boys up again 2-1. Another opportunistic goal by Wexford against the run of play left the parents fearing the dreaded penalties. With minutes to play, Brady Reil scored the decisive and deserved game winning goal, earning him the Game Ball Award in a 3-2 win. Duncan Allen earned Robbie Tournament MVP.

Congratulations Stingers!!!
