1992 BOYS GO UNDEFEATED AND WIN THE LEAGUE!!
The 92 Boys (U18) recently played their final game as Aurora Stingers and part of the Aurora Youth Soccer Club. It was winner take all as three points for Aurora would make them Champions of the highest division in the CSL. If they were to lose their Vaughan opponents would win the league. The Boys came up BIG winning the game 1-0, winning the league and also going undefeated.
This is a fairy tale finish for this age group. The team has experienced it all..the ups and downs have all been there over the years. A special mention goes to Dylan Huntley and Dexter Speller-Drews who have been on this team since U8. They have shown true loyalty to the team and the club, through the good and the bad times and have now got what they, along with their team mates fully deserve.
Having been promoted in 2008 and 2009 it was always going to be tough competing for the first time in the highest division of the CSL. Head Coach Phil D'Elia was ecstatic about his teams performance this year. Having added some players this year he wasn't sure if the team would gel together quickly enough to be a contender for the league title but the boys were up to it and got the job done.
The U18 age group had a busy schedule finishing early in August to accommodate the players moving off to University or College, many of whom are presently trying out for their new school soccer teams.
Well done to all the players and everyone involved with the team and this Championship year.
