The 2002 Boys have claimed first place in U13 Division 1 of YRSL, securing the championship with a 4-1 victory over Kleinburg. The boys have edged out a number of quality teams on their way to winning their division, including Whitchurch-Stouffville Mustangs and King City Royals.
Through 14 league games this season our Stingers posted a 13-0-1 record to go along with a plus 62 goal differential. The team also produced lead goal scorer in the league, as David Ferreira lead the league with 30 goals. Top goalkeeper Matt Modrusan also lead the league with most shutouts with 5.
This latest accomplishment for this group comes on the heels of an McGarrigle Cup, CanAm and Brossard Challenge Cup Champions and semi-final appearance in the Richmond Hill Challenge Cup in September.
A big congratulations goes out to all of those involved with the 2002 Boys, including the players, coaches Fabio Trinchini, team managers John Madrusan and Sonja Hudson, and all of the parents for a successful season.
