Parents’ Expectations & Ethics
- Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players,
coaches, and officials at every soccer event. - Focus on your child’s efforts & performance, rather that whether games were won or lost.
- Never ridicule or yell at your child for making a mistake or losing a game.
- Never coach your child or any other players from the sidelines.
- Support & applaud good play regardless of players or team.
- To place the emotional and physical well being of the players ahead of any personal
desire to win. - To support a safe, healthy & fun environment for your child to develop in.
- Remember, children are involved in sport for their enjoyment, not yours.
- Never publicly question the honesty or decisions of the officials.
- I will demand a drug/alcohol and tobacco free environment for my child and assist
by refraining from their use at all youth sporting events. - Teach your child that effort & teamwork are as important as winning, so that the result
of each game is accepted without undue disappointment. - I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect
regardless of race, sex, creed or ability. - Support all efforts to remove verbal & physical abuse from sporting activities.
- For the AYSC to succeed, we need your help & cooperation.
